Hello all,

I am not religious, nor would I consider myself an atheist. Agnostic for lack of a better word.

I was prompted to pray when I took a genuine interest in religion a few years back by a Jehovah witness. We spent some time talking and I made an honest to goodness attempt at a prayer, and a fully open mind and heart for a response but nothing came.

I've always just been busy and occupied and never gave religion a second thought, was curious if anyone else had difficulty becoming religious or had trouble accepting religion, or spirituality for that matter. If I try a prayer again what could I do better or different to have real results?

Do I need to be in need of something? I've recently sought help and support in my life and things are going well ( Personal trainer, therapist, nutritionist, New friends etc etc )

I am missing the faith element. I need to know God is real. I need to KNOW the holy ghost spoke to me or touched me. I need to KNOW that was a real sign from God and not a coincidence that my brain is desperate to make sense of the situation. I do not want to trick myself into thinking I know by believing. I want to know.

IS it possible to know? Is the only way to make the connection with faith? How can I become more open to being faithful Seems like a fundamental error in my survival instinct that I can't bring myself to betray my instinct of needing to know. What kind of challenge is this?

Please let me know any serious answers. Will report Troll or spam posts.

Well no wonder it won't work... faith is about having trust in the uncertain.

I think you're attempting to say "evidence that meets your standards". :bonk:

Which would be a swell argument if you had any evidence at all other than "some guy said so"

you are super natural by definition.

su·per·nat·u·ral
/ˌso͞opərˈnaCH(ə)rəl/
Learn to pronounce
adjective
adjective: supernatural

(of a manifestation or event) attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature.
"a supernatural being"

concerning life, science has no explanation. life by some kind of naturalistic random process science has not the foggiest idea. why do you think they are willing to say "the aliens did it"?
and since you cannot be explained by science, by default you are super natural and hard evidence for a creator which is hard evidence for God of scripture, the creator God.

"Science cannot explain it" does not imply god did it.

there is no science that even troubles scripture.

you are a supernatural creature by definition. no way around it

observation is harmonious with the word. no way around that either

science has been extraordinarily cruel to the antitheist.

edit BTW there is no God of the gaps.

abiogenesis was assertion fallacy and has been crushed into oblivion. certain members (antitheists) of the scientific community have been shown for frauds yet again

Lets Talk Science. More Specificaly "peer Review"

its such an obsession for antitheists. A baffeling creature consumed with what they dont even believe in? Antitheists are like a giant neon sign pointing at scripture, in part it was the antitheist that lead me to Christ.

well aware of it, define the argument in your own words and we'll go from there

If you modify the intensity of any of the four subatomic forces in terms of strength and behavior by any amount, then things like life, liquid water, and stars running on fusion become impossible. You would just have a lone universe heading on towards heat death.

Given the great varied strength in magnitude of these forces suggests that there was a specific selection of these values.
