He is making fun of your claims. He is, as an individual, fairly in favor of science.

Personally I enjoy my computer, my television, and pretty much every aspect of modern healthcare that saves lives.

So I'd say we've made progress even if it hasn't been world-shattering progress.




We're past the "easy" part of science. Quantum mechanics and relativity were somewhat "easy" to figure out, in that the discrepancies between classical physics and reality were somewhat obvious even if the reality was counter-intuitive.

We've now reached a point where the discrepancies between reality and theory are more difficult to measure, and the models aren't intuitive to begin with so they're difficult to think about.

So, now it's time to turn back to the gods?

Why need theories when you have facts lol

Theories have predictive power, so you don't have to completely test a system every time you implement a slightly different one.
