Avdiivka was one of the most heavily fortified places on the entire frontline.

Avdiivka has been on the frontline since 2014 which shows how determined Ukraine has been to hang on to the city. For a reason of course.

It's because Avdiivka is very close to the DPR capital Donetsk, has railway / road links and is therefor strategically important.


Downplaying the significance of this major Russian victory is pure cope. We've seen it before (Bakhmut), same propaganda BS, Ukraine lost Bakhmut but suddenly the city is no longer strategically important and so many Russians were killed that losing the city is almost a Ukrainian victory.
