cant get any worse so you might as well try him

Anyone going for PM right now is committing political suicide, just like May did.

The only way you'd go for it is if you know it's your only shot. Which might be the case for BoJo. There are literally no decisions you can make that are popular and well-liked by the majority.

Most of the leadership candidates are either openly stating they're happy with a no deal or even worse are claiming they'll go back to the EU to renegotiate a deal by the 31st October, which is pure fantasy considering they'll have about 6 (working) weeks and as a result effectively means leaving with no deal. The only exceptions are Gove and Stewart.

My preference up to last October was an orderly exit from the EU to respect the referendum result until it became clear that was no longer a realistic option. The government failed, the Brexit Party don't know what they're doing other than repeating populist slogans without an ounce of substance (for example, a solution to the backstop), glorifying leaving with no deal and in the process taking a national lead in the polls! The fact that 35% of the population are still hardcore Brexiteers at this point is the final nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned. For the first time in my life I am ashamed of this country.

LONDON/PARIS (Reuters) - Boris Johnson, the favorite to succeed Theresa May as Britain’s prime minister, said on Sunday he would withhold payment of the country’s European Union exit bill to try and get a better deal - a move that drew an immediate rebuke from France.

Johnson gets my vote. ^^

France is the first concerned by Brexit :

A source close to French President Emmanuel Macron said failure to pay the 39 billion pound Brexit bill would be equivalent to a sovereign debt default.

But i guess it's easier for your brain to post a video with "hahah france is pissed" ... ^_^

Well, I admit I'm not exactly well versed in EU politics. Maybe you could explain to me, WHY the UK owes the EU 39 billion pound, for leaving the EU.
Nothing I have read, since the first referendum on Brexit, seems to explain this.

It was on top of my first search result.

EU budgets are planned for multiple years. Within the current budget the UK still needs to pay 39 bil, while the rest of European countries will pay about half back during that time for agriculture subsidies etc.
A new budget is made at the end of 2020. What will be paid and received by the UK would stay the same, not relying on the date of the actual Brexit.

I have no clue about how to even search for that...aka, what terminology, etc. If you could provide a link that somehow explains this... I would appreciate it.

Tbh, I'm expecting the 39bil to be to high at this moment, as the deadline has been shifted. One could argue that moving it even further would remove the divorce bill.. Then again, there might be more factors at play this article doesn't highlight.
