I'm not so sure Russia got the "jump" on the US Space Force. It's been widely speculated that the trillions of dollars rolling through and disappearing in the DOD goes to black budget space projects. The government does not have to make public what it's doing just like they didn't ask for the publics opinion when they detonated over 2,000 Nuclear bombs all over the US territories. Now they are trying to aerosolize our atmosphere with metallic nanoparticulate to "manage solar radiation" and deflect the suns "harmful rays". Literally ZERO long term study just boom implemented sorry citizens you don't have a choice in the shit that matters. Rod of God satellite weapons/kinetic energy weapons and satellite lasers all are patented military application technology. It's not hard for me to postulate that with enough money/scientific research you could build a base on the moon and so there could easily be a US/Russia/Chinese base already there. Now Mars? Highly doubtful.

I think people are dumb and naïve to think were struggling to get back to the moon when we got there 75 years ago. It's literally zero strategic value to make your adversaries and even your own allies aware of your most advanced weapons systems/programs.

I've seen the white papers on some of these space based weapons systems(google patents) and they all could easily already be operating but the cost and the precision of the deployment of such weapons just isn't feasible when you already have surface to air missiles, submarine based nuclear weapon systems, etc.

I don't lose sleep over the nuclear weapon dangled over major cities around the world. At least everyone in the blast zone is dead instantly. I wouldn't want to be creepin around when a nuclear war starts and all nuclear power plants go full meltdown on top of it all. Not even safe in a deep underground bunker and even if you were what kind of life is hiding beneath the surface of the Earth because you were directly responsible for the destruction of what's above you.

Phoenix is toast too. Oh well. Not afraid of nukes at all though. At least, not of being ground zero of a blast. I'd be vaporized before I realized there was danger. Doesn't seem so bad.

Thing is... What's the likelihood of any nation parking nukes on satellites? I'm not saying it couldn't be done. But what's to prevent, say, Bezos from going up in his cock-shaped shuttle and yoinking the nuke from the satellite? Serious question, why would anyone store a nuke on a satellite that's defenseless in orbit? Also, when the nuke's missile thruster fires to propel it towards earth, what about the Satellite? Wouldn't the counter force push it off into space?

I dunno. Satellite nukes sound kind of dumb.

That's the whole thing it's doable and there's patents but it's like 1000x the cost and not as accurate or on par with what we already have in silos/subs/aircraft.

I sort of think it's just propaganda from the military industrial complex on all sides and I think the same of UFO's like "omg aliens" "omg space nukes". Give us more tax money we will keep you safe.

seems lots of ukrainian positions are being abandoned in avdiivka and Russia will complete their encirclement in the next few days and take the city proper
Russian troops already raised a flag over the main bunker complex in the south, and also planted a russian flag in the entrance to the city in the north where Zelensky filmed his 'visit to the front lines' a month ago
At this point its pretty obvious the ukrainians are trying to retreat everyone inside the city and Russia is trying to close the gap and cut them off and there's no attempt to hold the city anymore

If the Russians can capture and kill the Ukrainians, that's yet fewer men to hold endless western weapons.
