These figures are from the internet so presume poetic licence has been used by various sites. I am merely providing context.

Ireland: Population: 4.9Million. Size: 70,000km sq'd. Ukrainian refugees in Ireland: 20,000+ (as of start April)
England: Population: 55Million. Size: 130,000 km sq'd. Ukrainian refugees in England: 12,000+'s (also note: 25,000 visa's granted). i assume this will translate to people and I assume this does not include scotland and wales.
Spain: Population: 47Million. Size: 505,000km dq'd: Ukrainian refugees in Spain: 25,000+ (as of April)
USA: Population: 329 Million. Size: 9,834,000 km sq'd. Ukrainian refugees in USA: 8,758 (as of end March).

Poland is ofc #1 for opening the door to Ukrainian Refugees and I applaud them for their efforts. I live in Ireland and I would like to think we have our doors open. England lawmakers and US lawmakers are not fans of inviting refugees which is why their numbers are always low.

If you have different numbers for these countries just post them.

Thank you for the stats! The news here talks every single day about migrants and refugees constantly flooding the southern border. That’s where I live so watching my rent go up 40% piecing together why. The only possible reasons are population surge, or loss of housing. This whole thing is weird and too many people are getting rich exploiting all of us. That’s why we end up fighting each other just trying to figure out what’s true.

For scale, we have more illegals here than Ireland’s entire population.

The world's thirst for oil and gas also took away any clout Biden/the U.S. admin might have had in their negotiations with Iran. So now he has to resort to begging freakin' Venezuela for more drilling, all while he's still not willing to spend political capital on an expansion of the domestic fossils industry out of fear of his own party's rabid activist base.

Regarding Europe: we are quickly building new LNG terminals, but it takes at least 9 months or so before they can go into operation. The only saving grace is that Putin is well-aware of the fact that his entire system would blow up in his face within 8-24 months without revenue from commodity sales, so that he isn't willing to pull the trigger on cutting off the gas either. The fashion in which he shied away from really forcing the West to pay in rubles two weeks ago is proof of that.

So now, the main threat in this regard are bleeding-heart liberals here in Western Europe who are drunk with morals and try to pressure our governments into a gas embargo to address their personal guilt trip. And like I've mentioned before, there are of course the climate activists who see the current situation as their golden opportunity to force their unpopular sacrifice-and-restrictions-agenda onto our societies under the guise of a purported "moral obligation", hoping that the public will blame the forseeable and catastrophic repercussions onto Putin.

LNG deliveries cant replace a full pipeline though

i recently read that it would take a six figure amount of LNG shipments to replace nordstream 1

Most countries have chronic housing problems. America has serious infrastructure problems from what I have read.

Alright Bro here is the thing.

I support migrants

But I want the ones who will come into the country and make the country a better place.
Tech Entrepreneurs, Doctors, Academics, Inventors, Engineers or migrants that we need in some of the industries that we are lacking personnel in, business owners who can come in an start companies that can provide jobs to my people.
Maybe every now and then refugees who can integrate and assimilate into our society with no problems.

A country cannot just take in any Tom Dick and Harry. This will only burden the country's already stretched thin welfare system.
I mean you are not doing well in taking care of your own people and yet you want to continue taking others?

It doesn't make sense.

And where do I as an American get to go for refuge when I get overrun and overpopulated? The world needs better world leaders. This gen sucks as a whole. Because that’s true.

*hamster that’s what worries me. We have political forces exploiting every nook and cranny and it’s the masses feeling the burn. I lost my career due to an injury no doctor would perform the surgery I needed because it was too risky. I have to start my life all over at 35 and there ain’t a damn place that I can go for help

stop bullying america lol. its well known on the planet that america has shit social services. yes this could explain why they are not taking in more refugees from Ukraine but the more plausible explanation is that the US is on the far side of the planet.

In my opinion: regrettably America's politicians definition of long term plans for the most part involve planning 1-4 years advance. therefore they dont know how to fix problems that take longer then 4 years to fix. If you look at what China is doing : building Solar, Wind, Nuclear, Roads, infrastructure, etc. this is exactly what america needs to do over the next 20+ years but is too stuck in its own little box to see the problem. bringing the conversation back to the conflict: if the US spent more resouces on its own country and less time and energy on the far side of the planet we (and you) would have something to look forward to and there would be less wars.

/edit i accept that there are some glaring flaws in the above so to clarify: While america was the world's policeman it brought a degree of stability to the world. i'll stop at that.

No mate I am not bullying America, as a matter of fact We in South East Asia need it to be stable politically again. Because we still need them as a stabilizing entity since they are the preeminent military and economical force in the world. That being said we do not want them to be a dominant force that start bullying other countries to the ground, we need them to be a constructive partner.

100% agree.

Corporations and landlords love immigration - any kind of immigration. From their perspective, it makes total sense.
