While largely symbolic it does appear that the so called special military operation is becoming more real and more like a war, for ordinary Russians.

but that said my contribution here is basically to tell people "Don't stick your hand on that hot stove" and have them spitefully do it anyway, can't say it really bothers me

Unless the Russians start marching on Berlin, there's a near zero chance Germany would actually directly get involved. Sure, there may be some contingency plans and what not, but this is highly unlikely.

oh, to be clear, they believe (based on the article's content) that Russia is about to invade western europe, hence the reason to prepare. that was the content of the article. I dont agree with it, I am merely providing the headline. As I understand it, the narrative being said is "Ukraine today, the rest of europe tomorrow".

This has been as a justification of this war throughout the conflict. "If we don't stop Russia now, then we're next". It's sad that a lot of people buy into this without critically thinking about it.

France is also delivering 70 Ceasars artillery prices in 2024(Ukraine has about 40 right now) bringing production up to 6/month from 2, with 3000 155mm shells per month. Coupled with the new batch of SCALP missles(stormshadows) are aasm sbu variants which are top of the line, apparently these have been retrofitted to work on f-16s. If Ukraine can maintain its supply of fpv drones, all this hardware could actually make a difference in taking out Russian AA systems.....but time will tell

critics' have repeatedly stated that the F16's are old and defunkt, that they wont fly, that russia will shoot them out of the air etc. as you said, it remains to be seen what happens.
