Ukraine braces for renewed Russia offensive near Kharkiv

Local military intelligence units believe Russian forces could be plotting to further ramp up aerial attacks this weekend to coincide with Christmas in Russia, which is celebrated on Jan 7.
The ground offensive could follow shortly after, with Jan 15 mooted as its possible start date, a source added.

Read the article you posted it literally says there that Putin didn’t actually confirm anything and the one making the claim is inferring.

Oil demand/pricing is typically seasonally sensitive with late fall being the slow season. If they're hitting 8 month highs now, probably means they'll see robust oil demand during Spring/Summer. Commodities revenue for Russia really remains the engine for this war. As long as they keep making money, hard to see how their war production will wane.

I cannot understand why Ukraine continues this senseless war. Why don't they stop it? They are the only ones who can end the war.
