All that these numbers are conveying is that both Ukraine and Russia are totally committed. This is an existential threat for Russia therefore no amount is too much. They will win this war or they will suffer a humiliating defeat (which is highly improbable). There is no middle ground here. There is no shame in 300000 dead. Sure if they were Israeli they would have just carpet bombed Ukraine to reduce their own losses but Russia is not that barbaric or inhumane.
