it's not going to become anything like south korea though, China does not want a 'good' country to border them.

If North Korea's dictatorship falls the most likely scenario is a reunited Korea.

Mutually assured destruction is a nash equilibrium, one side having nukes and the other not having nukes poses the greatest risk of nukes being used!

Exactly, although in this case MAD wouldn't really go both ways in a strict sense. The US could raze all of NK, while NK could only strike a few american cities (still causing millions of death, and being enough to deter an american strike).

It's not that much of a bad situation; nobody will want to start a war, while the US and allies would still have the upper hand in any case.

Russia & China allied together to say "NO" to USA...

Russian minister:

"It is perfectly clear to Russia and China that any attempts to justify the use of force by referring to [United Nations] Security Council resolutions are unacceptable, and will lead to unpredictable consequences in this region which borders both the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China,"
"Attempts to strangle the DPRK [North Korea] economically are equally unacceptable," he added.

This means NK will continue its military program, becoming an independant nuclear power;
This is going in best interest for Russia and China;

- They both dont want an american outpost at their fontiers
- China is irritated by american excercizes in the area
- China could massively invest in NK for mining the mineral ressources
- Making USA the "loser" at geopolitical level
- Kim Jong will troll hard USA for a very, very, long time

So they are all calling for "peace" ... Ready show their UN Veto.

This is a cancer situation for USA IMO, losing influence, getting mocked/insulted, and under "dissuasive threat".

Im curious about the issue, Kim Jong assassination in a non-official operation seems the "best option" for USA...

Well aside from the fact that you give no link for all that...China is already heavily invested in NK's mining. In fact they are the biggest investor.

The point still is...you can't sit down at the UN and promise something, then just ignore your promises.

IF China and Russia are so in love with NK, then NK doesn't need a nuclear program as both Russia and China already have one. The difference being that both Russia and China have much cooler heads than Kim Jong is even capable of.
The issue is not whether a small country like NK should be allowed to have a nuclear presence, but that they do NOT have the ability to control themselves as the larger more experienced countries like Russia and China have.

NK will go after SK, as well as Japan and everyone except you seems to realize this. Hell, NK has already been caught aiding and abetting (with military resources and manpower) countries in the Middle East. I don't think anyone could not see the danger in this situation.

As I've said about 20 times, so far...no one was bothering or even concerned with NK, until they started their nuke program.

As for this being cancer for the USA, get serious. If that was the way the US rolled, we would have totally eliminated France for all it's BS over the years. :D

- it's in news today, figure out yourself.
- cool, i guess the punishment will be no candies ?
- by "nuclear presence" you means something surnatural ? like a glowing aura ?
- oh yeah, almost forgot, NK have nothing to do here, should not exist.
- cool, and now ?
- so you want to "eliminate france" for BS ?

Learn what is a "veto" before talking about UN please :rofl:

Nothing to worry about.

NK can't reach the shores of the U.S.

Hell, they can hardly even reach a target in their own backyard.

You would practically be looking at a large scale extermination of life in the northern parts of the Korean peninsula with minimal casualties on behalf of the U.S.

Their tech is beyond outdated, their military is inexperienced to say the least, and their leadership is incompetent.

NK would fall somewhere in the neighborhood of a few weeks at most just by virtue of facing our Air Force alone, let alone the Navy, and an all out ground offensive conducted by the Army and Marine Corps.

It wouldn't be a war. It would be an annihilation.
