I've been following the south China sea drama as much as I can and I know that China publicly stated that they just passed the 5nm barrier for their chips. Imo if China ever matches tsmc in production, Taiwan will be in alot of trouble.

They already have the chip that is more advanced than 5nm. They are pretending that they don't. A few ex TSMC boys are working for the Chinese semi conductor industry.

I remember a year back , everyone is calling China's production of 7nm bullshit and it will take them 15 years to figure out.

They made it. Not refined as TSMC, but it worked.

So they have a secret chip. But you know about it?

Ya I think alot of people still don't understand china's ability to catch up to western tech. Ya I remember when I read an article a few years back where a bunch of guys from tsmc jumped ship to China, I can only imagine the wealth of knowledge they brought over. Western sanctions didn't work on Russia so they are sure as shit ain't gonna work on China

Semantics don't matter here my friend, along as they can produce it, it doesn't matter how they got it!

Also for you:

What the sanctions have done is told Russia, and China, to be self sufficient, which they are now doing. If Russia, and China are now making their own stuff, and are no longer reliant on US, it means that there is less reasons not to go to war (because they are no longer trading with each other).
