russia could have drastically increased its fuel prices incrementally, what's Europe going to do? abandon 10 years of pipeline construction to overpay OPEC to barge in raw oil then build their own infrastructure to turn it into gas? not if Russia got the increments right. shock and awe was easier, they have peasants and weapons to spare. they took the low road.

I think this is referring to invading Taiwan.

i would suggest (and correct me as needed) that invading any country (regardless of cause) is a "low" when diplomacy would have been better (but i accept that when diplomacy fails use of arms is the alternative). And I dont mind if my haters want to blast me for this haha.

That is pretty damn low. I wouldn't stand for it and my country wouldn't stand for it because we have our own valid reasons.

So currently Russian Urals crude is trading at approximately - $35 per barrel discount compared to Brent Crude. Crude is around 100 so that's basically a 35% discount.

The problem though is oil prices have inflated so significantly over the last few months than even at 35% discount, that's basically the market price of like 2-3 months ago lol. Look at the below yearly Brent price chart, 65 dollars a barrel was going rate prior to Jan.

So now, what I think happens, is you will have a lot of nations trying to buy Russian oil under the table. To call a 35% discount big is a huge understatement because on an aggregate level that could be the difference worth hundreds of millions if not billions over a long enough stretch of time based on whatever countries oil consumption.

It's entirely possibly that over time their market share could actually go up as a result.

Came here to read about the JSP russian bots claiming Kramatorsk was a Ukrainian operation and Russia would never do anything like that.
