Lester Holt: "Chris, the President clearly drew that linkage between the War in Iraq and the War on Terror, that was clearly an issue in dispute until the first bombs dropped, has he successfully turned that corner? Is it now viewed by the American public as all one war?"
Chris Wallace: "Well, I think that it was always seen by the regular people in the country, not the intellectuals, maybe not the sophisticates even in the Pentagon, the regular people, if you looked at the the demonstrations during the war at the capital, if you listen to country music, if you heard people speak with their feelings about this war, it has always been a get-even for what happened on September 11th. A message. He said tonight, "they tried to force us to a retreat, and we beat them." I mean, that is such a powerful message. This is a comeback, and I think it has so much to do with being hit September 11th."
