The NFL pays for the stadium time and the air time. It's not the player's right to use that time for their protests.

I agree, and that's why conservatives were outraged when Tony Romo forced his religion on everyone in the NFL stadium and wattching over air.

Bullshit.

Nobody on this forum gets as triggered as you over black dudes taking a knee to the anthem.

I wouldn't care if they were white. They don't own the time they are using for their protests.

As a person watching the NFL I won't be if some of those players are suspended and I am sure many others won't.

Who gives two shits if the kneel or lay down and take a pre game nap.

You don't seem to know what a right is in the context of the constitution. rights are afforded privileges that protect you by law from legal punishment. which the constitution 100% allows in this case.

someone could be fired, like say Colin Kaepernick, and they'd have no legal recourse. His lawsuit against the NFL owners is about collusion not to hire him, not about wrongful termination.

the players have the right to do far far far worse things than kneel, and the owners and league can fire them. or since they run about 400 cameras per game not show them. they show them every game because it pumps the ratings, that's diminishing but its still a conversation piece.

Yeah, and if someone was sitting crushing beer in a hockey game or kneeling or passed out I could give two shits. I'm there to watch a NHL game which will happen if both teams or kneeling for that one minute or not.

Well, then you're the rarity. Last season nearly everyone boycotted the games.

you really just cant stop with the fake stats can you?

NFL viewership barely fell in a rate above cable viewership falling. cable viewership has been dying due to cord cutters for a long time, it fell faster but attributing that to only kneeling isn't even honest. there's concussions and other bullshit factors tempering the rate decline...

Dude, we went over this last season. Somewhere in this sf is all the stats I'm referring to.
The NFL even drafted a law forcing the players to act like adults.
The union (this season) quashed it. But the fans will have their way in the end. The advertisers will see to that.

you're looking at the world in rosy colored glasses old man. as per the usual you fail to factor in anything that doesn't fit your worldview.

kneeling is a contentious issue, that doesnt mean the NFL is 100% against it. it means they are getting flack and bad PR from both sides, and as a business they want to stop that bad PR. and in typical NFL style they fuck up and make a terrible confusing rule that needs to be redone. they do the same with rules on gameplay regularly, they make terrible decisions on commentators, etc

people in the middle of the issue with no horse in the race are tired of the issue, another factor you aren't letting into your false dichotomy. advertisers don't like bad PR, it leaks into their brand, another factor that doesnt make it through your thick gourd.

this isnt some "america overwhelming doesnt support kneeling, wants it banned, and the truth will out" issue. no matter how much your simplistic brain needs it to be boiled down that potently.
