May be, but they should have a democracy instead of communism. They sided with commies during WW2 but this all was just incase of Japanese regime.

Ok here is the thing.
This is the problem about democracy in China.
If the Current China have Democracy and if Taiwan is still an issue.
They would have voted for a Taiwan invasion straightaway.

The Chinese on a whole are extremely nationalistic.
The Chinese in South East Asia are a little bit different because as ex british colonies and us being educated in English and English is our first language, we look at things a little differently.

Maybe it is good that China doesn't have that kind of democracy. They might just run amok.....

It started to seem plausible that this was an errant strike by Ukraine until I came across this:

Turns out there were 2 missiles, which rules out an error on Ukrainian's part, both countries have and use the Tochka, and Russia paints their missiles green while Ukraine paints theirs gray. The photo is of a green missile.

If a War happens , even a combination of Russia and China might not beat the USA alone. lets not talk about NATO involvement.

On top of it, the Chinese just wants to make money at the moment and flex their muscles every now and then.

You have to understand China will be going against Japan, USA , Taiwan and possibly Philippines.
And if Philippines gets involved some countries in ASEAN region will get involved.
Not to mention India.

Whether they can in the future or maybe annex Taiwan with Soft power, it is yet to be seen.
Naked aggression will be against the Chinese favor.

China is very dependent towards trade with EU, USA and South East Asia.

And last but not least China is not Xi Jinping but Russia is Putin.
There is still alot of infighting and power struggle between fractions in the Chinese government.
So Xi cannot or will think twice before he make his move like that of Putin.

But this is just my superficial opinion.

Russia doesn't have Tochka U as a current MLS, however there for sure will be many in a military storage now shared with Donbass rebels. And they want their kids to be avenged. Probaby not by shelling a railroad station, there were a basement of territory defense, a big one. Poor guys. They are just locals, they have nothing to do with kids being killed in Donetsk.

In terms of China, alot of people look at the Taiwan issue (will China invade or not). I dont know the answer. But my own view is China dont need to invade and its a waste of time and resources to do so. Better to continue building this massive foundation and play the long game. Do I think China could take Taiwan in a heartbeat ? yes. They have the ability to do it. from china's perspective, should they ? no. better to let nature play its course or until such point as they become supreme, noting it is only a matter of time until they reach that point (unless something monumentally steers them off course).

China also will not do a Putin move because the history is not there. Russian contracted. China is China.

Going to be hard to invade and annex Taiwan.
I have to agree to disagree, but I do understand where you are coming from.
I am not sure within next 5 to 10 years what would it be like.
But if at this current situation. I dont think they can. Too much resistance. And the Chinese do not want to shell or destroy Taiwan like what the Russians are doing now.

They want Taiwan to be complete and whole.

i did my national service in Singapore and we were sent to Taiwan.
I would say the Taiwanese army and the Americans can put up quite a fight.

But that is just my opinion.
