Depends what the technology is being used for. If it's used to induce immunity to disease then it's a vaccine. If it's being used to suppress a certain type of protein expression than its gene therapy. It doesn't have one name because of the technology, not a specific thing.

So tell me, what would you call something that induces immunity without having to be exposed to an infectious agent

if that something is "weakened or killed bacteria or viruses" i would call it a vaccine.

the mRNA gene therapys. they are experimental but they want to call them "vaccines". we have 4 months and the beginning of flu season will be upon us. I suppose then we will find out what they are.

if its true what new study says? graphene oxide. that would just make them poison. It kinda makes sense though. would explain the weird neurological problems some of these jab takers get.

You don't even know what the function of a vaccine in general is.. now wonder you are confused.

So what would you call the vaccines that aren't live attenuated vaccines? Because live attenuated vaccines haven't been the gold standard for a long time. Most of the time you're getting an isolated protein that is conjugated to something that will cause the immune system to respond in a stronger fashion.

So what would you call it if I isolated the gene for a viral protein, then made something else express that protein in great amounts, then purified that protein, then conjugated it to a molecule that increases immune response, then injected you with it to allow your body to build immunity to that protein and thus generate immunity to the original disease?

Because that's how most vaccines have worked for like 40 years.

and why not just do what your talking about? doesnt it seem alot of hassle to construct a technique to sneak past the immune system to get foreign material into cells when we can just do it like you just explained? sounds like mad scientist stuff............................bill gates

and i said "mrna vaccine" the same way you'd say "machine gun". its a new vaccine, just as that was a new gun. pretty simple.
