You’re a good guy Dizzy
^Meanwhile what’s your deal? You are very smart and have your own opinion…it’s good…why do you always not agree? Like no matter if I say something that you align with, you just go with a counter?
Common, even people with different views can show each other respect! My best to you! As a close friend of mine says- I wish you good health
It's not really a matter of being agree with someone but more with a statement. I think I can perfectly understand your point of view:
You don't see immediate threat and USSR is past, so everything is fine and there's no need to touch Russia because hmm war cost lives and money... Eventually... + Putin conservative ideas are pretty much ok: watch out these lgbt++ crazies...
Hard to imagine how U.S would look like today if this kind of reasoning has been systematically applied by your politics.

How is it a net positive for Canada? We are dumping money we don't have into a war on the other side of the world
My city for example has never had a homeless problem, there were maybe a few around town who were just old people with mental issues or alcoholics/drug addicts but they were very rare and didn't cause problems.
Since we started funding this war, there are are now multiple government run homeless encampments. There is a public park a few blocks away from me in the center of town and it now has 30 people there living in tents. This isn't just my city, it is happening all over Canada. Grocery bills and rent have both skyrocketed. Some of this is attributable to COVID lockdowns but those have been over for awhile and things have gotten steadily worse.
How much should Canadians sacrifice for a war on the other side of the world that has nothing to do with them, apart from all the money we spent preparing Ukraine before it even started? We have sent billions in aid, arms and support/training staff
So what, we just do this forever or until Russia collapses?
For commodity-producing countries like Canada, high prices generate additional income for entire sectors of the economy in the short term.
In hostile environment Canada would have been absorbed by superpowers in a snap, it's always the same story: people don't want to understand till someone come to knock at the door.
Strangely the concerns increase proportionally with the proximity of the Russian border...
