My point, why would Russia stop at very small nukes? Again you're building these very weird guard rails where they would do X and not Y because out of some feigned fear out of China which would allow Ukraine to continue the war until the bitter end. It's hollywood-esque.

China and Russia have been natural enemies because both are large power blocs and share a huge border. What I find most interesting and reflective of reality is China in no way or fashion is really trying to infringe on any territory that belongs to Russia in far east, which is telling. It doesn't matter if your economy is 100x and your military is 10x more advanced, you don't fuck with an aggressive power that even if 10% of their nukes would be fired the world would end. That won't change in the next 10 years and probably not in the next 100.
edit: and them being historic enemies is really the big reason why i don't understand the west's driving China and Russia together. Our idiotic foreign policy drove together two powers in Asia when we could have sucked in Russia in the west's sphere which would have served as a huge counter-weight to China over the long term.
