that* guy you mentioned specifically claimed that the russians never committed genocidal acts against the chukchi people, even though they did. thats exactly what denial is.
as for those books.... you clearly arent absorbing as much from chomsky as you should. maybe you should check out more books from the lyeberry. a good exercise i recommend to closeted imperialists like yourself is to read Nietzsche, but try not to think about the nazis while doing so. might blow ur mind
I still have a lot of Chomsky books.
When you
read you analyze and you put it into the real world and you practice it and you use a common sense and pragmatic approach to how the world works. What are the limitations and what are the dos and don'ts , how you discipline yourself and how you should practice restraint.
I read Karl Marx and Mein Kempf before. I don't read it to absorb their ideals , I read them to find out what is going through their head, why they do this and why they come up with this conclusion.
What is the context and historical background that made they do what they do.
Some of what they say are correct and there are also a lot of instance where they write out of
Passion and not logic. Which means you have to discard those ideas.
Chomsky is a libertarian socialist / Anarchist.
I prefer the school of realism both offensive and defensive. Because realism works 70% of the time.
Stuff like The communist manifesto and even Fukuyama's The End of History are too airy fairy and idealistic. Sounds good....doesn't work.
You shouldn't absorb something just because one is a prominent intellectual figure. You need to think about what they say and if they are bullshitting on some topics out of their personal passion.
