Democrats played themselves again by nominating another bad candidate.

Our country will pay for our sins.

I agree that he's a bad candidate. However, Trump is failing so badly with his coronavirus response that Biden might still beat him.
Also, I'm not sure if any of the other Dem candidates would be stronger than Biden despite his glaring weaknesses.

Perhaps Warren, I think this pandemic and its social and economic implications would really have played into her hands...

Do you consider him a stronger candidate than Hillary, Romney or McCain? I'd rank him significantly lower than Hillary and Romney, about on par with McCain.

A few months ago I'd have said Trump has a cakewalk with his strong economy because it showed no signs of collapsing in 2020. Then Coronavirus blindsided America and all the rules were thrown out the window and anyone pretending to know how this all turns out is as clueless as the rest of us. Its still up in the air whether the overall Coronavirus response will get treated as a success or failure, whether America will bounce back strong or stagnate. I see so many signs that issues are just being punted back a few months that are going to turn up again before the elections, so I'd learn towards 'it gets worse'. Combine that with the death spiral of Joe Biden and democrats circling their wagons rather than cutting their losses, and we're definitely in for... an interesting election dynamic

consider this, with the two parties in the weakest spots they've been in ages, with their highest unfavorability ratings on both sides and American displeased with partisanship, we'd seeming be ripe for a 3rd party breakout. Jesse Ventura managed it in Minnesota once upon a time when both parties looked terrible, and he's even talking about joining this race. But we're simultaneously in the most bitter partisan times, with Americans more firmly entrenched in their parties because they hate the other side more. And so 3rd parties are treated as absolutely haraam because they're seen as defecting and helping the other side.

The democrats still have the extremely obvious off-ramp of jettisoning joe biden and taking a more tolerable moderate. Like I said from the very beginning with Klobuchar or Hickenlooper, though Cuomo is now unwillingly in the mix. But every indication is still that no matter how reasonable and good a play that might be, they would rather plummet into oblivion. At least McCain was a real war hero

I think the timeline is key here: even if the country bounces back strong in the end, I really dont see this happening in time for the election. Think of the 92 election, when the recession was already over for almost half a year by election day, yet the perception of recession and a weak economy still tanked HW Bush. Trump might end up with a situation where the economy still sucks ass come election day, even if it already is on an upward trajectory, and a lot of people think to themselves "he sacrificed lives for this?"

Cuomo imho isnt an option. He made plenty of mistakes in handling coronavirus, he's not the white knight in a shining armor some media figures see in him. He's just the flavor of the month because for the liberal media, whoever is the most visible person feuding with Trump at any given moment gets hyped as their next lord and savior. Think of Michael Avenatti, lol.

Anyway... tldr, #HulkHogan2020 ?!? ;)

A C/P because i didn't want to write this out:

1)She took her story to Ronan Farrow, notorious for his part in the movement and for taking down Harvey Weinstein. He looked into it and stated there is nothing here to move forward with.

2) Jodi Kantor and Megan Towhey of the NY Times, both won Pulitzer prizes for their reporting on Harvey Weinstein, and they looked at what she was accusing and said there's nothing there, and refused to report on it.

3) In 2009, Tara Reade wrote multiple stories praising Biden for his work on the VAWA (violence against woman act).

4)The Times Up legal defense fund referred her to multiple attorneys at the National Women's Law Center, and every attorney who looked at her case refused to work with her because she only wanted PR support and not legal action.

5) She, in the past, has accused her father, her ex-husband, her ex-employer (who, when they discovered she was embezzling from the company, fired her), a YWCA worker, her business partner Frankie Knight, and now Joe Biden, all of abusing her... (Biden, after he announced he was definitely running for Pres..... there's that convenient timing thing)

6) Three times her story changed from, “he made me feel uncomfortable” touching her shoulders, to “he complimented my legs” and then she upped the ante to “digital penetration”.

7) In 2018, she started writing gushing posts about how great Vladamir Putin is and they have been reprinted into Russian News papers.
