Indeed. Its still prudent to include the facts.

Do you consider rewriting history equal to redrawing international borders?

Seems a bit ironic for a Russian to complain about revisionism.

Being born somewhere doesn't make you "from there" automatically. You need to have birthrights through descent from your parents or apply for the citizenship. A lot of people are born to expat parents around the world in places like Singapore, Hong Kong, Oman and what not. Doesn't make these children "from there". "Born" at best, but their nationality remains the one they acquired from their parents. There are only a few countries in the world that give nationality through birthplace (eg. United States, Argentina), but Ukraine is not one of those countries.

In our example Sikorsky was an Imperial Russian citizen who later acquired American citizenship through naturalization.

I give you another example Louis Theroux. What is he? Singaporean? French? British? American? How would you write him out on a board like this?

As mentioned, historical revisionism affects a lot of people unable to think critically or bother to learn history which clearly shows in this thread.

I am not disagreeing with you. I simply said its important to include the facts. Why is it so bothering to you?
Anyway I noticed you avoided my question. Although I can also agree with the bold there. Perhaps if Russia's president was able to think more critically he may not have blundered so terribly by invading Ukraine.

Perhaps the irony of a Russian complaining about revisionism was not apparent when you made your post. Glad its been brought to light.

It bothers me because its unclear what that picture referred to. Its a story about Russian Imperial engineer who later emigrated to the US.

Why is he Ukrainian? He never acquired the citizenship (Soviet or Ukrainian for that reason). He never spoke the language. Was he born in Kiev, Ukraine? No. He was born in Kiev, Russian Empire. If Kiev becomes Polish again like it was hundreds of years ago will Sikorsky become Polish? Its a Polish last name.

If you want to be factually correct - be factually correct.

Nice dodge, even better than claiming Whataboutism

Not surprising considering that you were defending Western actions in Libya the other day

Absolutely, like I said I don't disagree with you. I only found it interesting you would provide a partial life story but omit the man was born in Kiev. As if that was intentional.
I appreciate you sharing your concern that a Dutch air museum would incorrectly attribute a long dead mans nationality. That kind of revisionism should not stand!

Although it is slightly disappointing that you and your countrymen didn't share the same concern when your president chose to revise the international border of its neighbor.

I mean its not to say that your concerns are pathetic, I would never go that far. Its only to point out the clear irony in your choice of complaint.

I understand you have your priorities!

Bro needs one of those aides to shuffle him off the set like they do with McConnell whenever his brain shuts down

I'd almost feel bad for him if he wasn't a demon
