I mean, the United States' decision makes far more sense than Russia's....what are they getting out of it? dead soldiers, low morale, hundreds of millions in military equipment lost, embarrassment on a global stage...

spending 5% to own Russia seems like the best deal in the history of best deals

Technically correct. But there are a lot of other equation and considerations.
However, that is left to be debated.

What Mitt said was broadly correct. But things are a lot more complicated.

Russians don't get to decide what Ukrainians get to do.

Might makes right. Russians are starting to dictate to Europe what they can and cannot do and since that used to be uncles Sam's job they blew up the pipeline and are willing to sacrifice ukraine.

Europeans won't do shit to stop Russian aggression and neither will big daddy usa. Good luck

Isn't the war still going on? Or is that an estimate of what the total cost will be?

Maybe they should spend 10% and finish it quicker instead of sacrificing thousands of Ukrainians for a better deal

whats up with all this spam?

*spams a completely off-topic post to ask what all the "spam" is about*

irony reaching critical levels.

would you consider uncritical regurgitating of russian propaganda, like:

Quote (JohnnyMcCoy @ 28 Jan 2022 23:12)
everyone who really thinks that russia will invade ukraine......i got some bad news

you are a complete idiot

"spam" too? or is that on topic? anyway, always funny to see how russian propaganda victims completely changed their tune multiple times and still post here without shame, as if they hadn't been proven wrong over and over again...

"accidentally"? have you been asleep for the last 3,500 pages?! i have ALWAYS said that a sovereign nation should have the right to ally with whoever its people choose to, whereas YOU think that it's russia's right to determine who ukraine can ally with.

is your reading comprehension really THAT terrible? have you genuinely not understood that until just now? holy shit...

and again, seeking membership in nato is NOT a declaration of war. invading a country, however, is. and that's what russia did. nato didn't invade anything, pootlicker.

Countries react to the actions of other countries and will act to protect their interests. NATO knows that. Hell everybody knows that.

NATO provoked to the point where Russia reacted and NATO and their shills love this "opportunity" to pump Ukraine full of weapons as your buddy just proved in his post above. Did you check it?

I mean the same could be said for all you Russophiles, Russia is desperate for troops right now. whats stopping you from taking on the big bad Ukrainians?

Quote (fender @ Sep 14 2023 12:06pm)
that is such a dumb people "argument".

"hEy, iF yOu wAnT tO cRiTiCiSe cApiTaLiSm, wHy dO yOu sTiLL bUy sTuFf? wALk tHe wALk!"
"hEy, iF yOu wAnT tO cRiTiCiSe lEbRoN, wHy dOnT yOu pLaY iN tHe nBa? wALk tHe wALk!"
"hEy, iF yOu wAnT tO cRiTiCiSe cHiLd LaBoUr, wHy dOnT yOu pRoDuCe yOuR oWn cLoThiNg? wALk tHe wALk!"

as if you could only legitimately criticise things if you dedicate your whole life to improving the situation in question. it's just a tactic to silence criticism.

also, why don't you live by your own "logic" and apply for a job as a mercenary for mother russia? they are ALSO in desperate need for cannon fodder...

Because, unlike you guys, I don't care who wins the war, I have no vested interest in the outcomes for either Ukraine or Russia.

Which is why I do not support funding either side.

However, if you DO support funding one side, logic dictates that you should go fight for them, or at least send your own money as donations..

defending their geopolitical interest

not that i agree with it, but the US themselves said that russia would go to war over ukraine (wikileaks) so its not suprising

its not like the west outside of the military industrial complex and big corp is getting anything out of this mess
