Brittanica definition is exactly what I said, & it states Karl Marx himself used the terms as synonyms. The article clearly states that "communism" is the utopian ideal of a "stateless classless moneyless" society that runs on unicorn farts and people's own good will. Exactly what I stated - Communism is the fictional utopian ideal while socialism is what exists in reality if communism is ever attempted - ergo they are the same thing.
Achieved capitalism is almost as much scary as Staline communism lol. U.S have a very light touch of socialism with welfare, food programs, etc. It doesn't make it communist by far.
We are not living in an intemporal world were evertying is fixed once the direction has been given.
You can live in a society where capitalization/capitalism is balanced with regulation (typical social democracy) and - it stays like this as long as possible - it is not communism.
