The point I made is that Russia is clearly capable of cranking out military hardware in wartime while entire factories had to be relocated.
Putin doubled the budget, 24/7 production so production will increase there's no other outcome unless a critical part is in short supply because of sanctions but I wouldn't count on that. They'll just use lesser parts and go from there.
At bold, 100% true. It is though a stretch to say that because they cranked out x amount of T-34's that they can, without question crank out x amount of T-90's.
Hypothetically if Russia could produce 1000 tanks a year for the next decade, do you think it can provide a solution to its current military predicament? Eg could they mount another assault on Kiev?
In referring to the war period where Russian factories had to be moved, its worth pointing out the scale of support from the allies and in particular Britain, which was not negligible but often forgotten.
"The Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee) Yes, Sir. I am circulating a full statement in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The House may like to have the following summary of this. In the period from 1st October, 1941, to 31st March, 1946, we supplied to the Soviet Union 5,218 tanks, of which 1,388 were from Canada. We supplied 7,411 aircraft, including 3,129 aircraft sent from the United States of America. As previously explained on the 10th May, 1944, the aircraft from the United States of America were sent on United States Lend Lease to the Soviet Union as part of the British commitment to the U.S.S.R. in exchange for the supply of British aircraft to United States Forces in the European Theatre. The total value of military supplies despatched amounts to approximately £308 million. We have also sent about £120 million of raw materials, foodstuffs, machinery, industrial plant, medical supplies and hospital equipment."
Interestingly would account for over £25 billion of aid adjusting for inflation.
