Genocide has several definitions and parameters: Things can tend more or less to a genocide.
A Ruscist military agression like the one in Ukraine concatenate several of these parameters, up to 4/5 already but technically it can be rejected as a pure old good old school genocide.

That's fair, there are those on the fringe right who say that mass immigration is a genocide of white people (very much NOT true)

However what used to be the fringe left has become the mainstream left.

I don't think the current Russian invasion is even close to genocide. What Russia is doing (missile striking civilian populations, markets, apartment buildings, etc.) amounts to war crimes but it's not genocide

Because they have been largely stopped. Else it could have been Bucha x 100 or 1000.

The attack was aimed at Sevastopol. not at a single ship out in the Black Sea so this would be the next big escalation.

And now? The whole world took note that when you help Ukraine they bitch at you in return calling you a person who helps Russians killing civilians. Why Ukraine thinks this attitude will help them is beyond me.

.I don't know anything about this grandfather story, and I said it was possible. Accusations go in the dedicated sub. You think it's Proximity ? You noticed how he managed to adapt in recent months ?
.I posted an interesting source regarding far right and nazis in Russia and how it was a much bigger problem than Ukraine . Can find back source if you want.

I don't think Russia would be dumb enough to waste a large stockpile of missiles on civilian targets, less they deplete their own armament stock and galvanize more support against them

These strikes are war crimes but meant to instill terror in the Ukrainian people (Russia is committing acts of terrorism also here) but by keeping them to a minimum they don't provoke the ire of NATO
