No bias take here
I am an American Russian, live in NYC, state side for 25+ years:
- American culture is completely being lost and forgotten
- quality of everything is going to shit and fast
- ok war is wrong, but bullying and forcing your will on people is worse- that’s what this country has repeatedly done not only in this case but to so many other countries in the world.
- even so many Ukrainian people that come here understand, this “help” from the US isn’t free- it’s not even wanted but forced there too. One man sold out his whole country
- sure, I’ll agree Putin is who he is- but that’s a given. The lies and corruption that I, a working class citizen am forced to pay for are much worse.
Stop looking at this as a conflict with Russia. How about all the people that are losing quality of life on all fronts? Don’t forget, someone’s loss is someone else’s win.
Proximity, meanwhile- I never agree with the stuff you say, but I read it.
Everyone else- I tend to agree and I watch content from both sides.
Everyone- it’s great we have this discussion- but understand- there are people paying for this- on all sides. Right or wrong, at the end of the day, ask yourself- how the fuck can’t we come to a resolution if we are all so intelligent? Is it because it’s more profitable not to come to a resolution? Has money/“flexing” (sorry for lack of a better term) become more valuable than life?
I doubt anyone here would really wish something bad on the other- its bad nature to wish ill on anyone. Let’s all think and maybe discuss possible solutions instead of trying to outwit the people who manipulate us.

So many people are dying needlessly and the country of Ukraine is being absolutely destroyed--both by Russia's actions but as well as actions taken by the west, both now and for the last number of years, encroaching and upsetting the long standing status quo.
I've met so many Ukrainians in my city in the last year or so, and frankly I'm happy they are here. I hope more and more are able to avoid the war and find a new home here. Good for them, their dads are around to raise families, their 17 year old sons don't have to worry about getting forced to the front. I remember years ago visiting some of my wife's family in Chernivtsi in south west Ukraine. Really liked the place and thought to myself how nice it would be to own a retirement home there. Great food, great feel to the city, etc. Now the situation is fucked, that part of the family was lucky to make it to the US before the war actually started, i say this because their son is 20 now and for sure would of been forced to fight. They were relatively middle to middle-upper class so they probably would of been able to buy their son out of service but so many simply do not have that luxury.
Would've been nice if ukraines warmongering neighbour didn't invade a sovereign country eh?
