Yeah it won't be an instant process, slowly at first, things will get increasingly tense as the US is stretched more and more trying to maintain the quality of life Americans are accustomed to, which is already much lower than it was decades ago IMO but nowhere near as bad as it could be. The Blackrock types probably took lessons from the Russian oligarchs and got started early.

There is always the chance of some drastic change taking place which could extend the empires lifespan a few more decades but I don't really have much hope of that happening because of how the current regime is handling its decline. It would take a cultural shift which I don't think is possible given the current state of things in the US. Even if they destroy Russia and ruin Chinas economy it would only be delaying the inevitable IMO, the biggest threats facing the US are from within, as with any empire.

I think it applies to many on the right as well, there's a quote I heard somewhere that goes "conservatives are just progressives driving the speed limit" and I think it is true in many ways.

That said I think the modern right is much more anti establishment now (as in the current establishment, not establishment in general of course) so I tend to align with them on many things, I can't really stand the Jeb Bush types though, I look at them as less competent democrats tbh
