The only parties in NATO which would be capable of responding to an attack on Australia are all committed to defending Australia in other treaties. Once any attack is made on any NATO participant responding to the attack on Australia in the designated regions, article 5 triggers. This is exactly the kind of shit that started WW1 for all intents and purposes Australia is a member of NATO.
