this war has been poison for russia's demographics. the better part of two generations sacrificed for some patches of ukrainian dirt, a massive brain drain leaving behind only the dumbest and poorest, and even those have realised by now that their shithole is doomed.

yes, the ukraine, as the invaded country is worse off (for now at least), and yes, pootin's war definitely hurts every country's economy, we all feel that to varying degrees - but anyone suggesting that it's overall worse for "the west" than it is for russia, is clearly delusional / dumb.

quite a lot, for very little return on investment.

but sending 3% of our military budget to Ukraine is a hell of a lot better deal than spending 75% of our military budget in Iraq/Afghanistan.
