People are too confident in what they think they know about something.

To think you can know for certain what’s going on in the back halls of power in a friendly country let alone Russia or China is a pretty big reach.

Yeah, that's why this sort of thing sounds like fan fiction to me. It reminds me a lot of the "Trump in chaos!" articles that were being churned out daily during his presidency and how certain people took it all as gospel.

Been reading about a concept called hyperreality which I think describes this sort of thing quite well

Journalists always have restricted access to the front lines, the risk of spying (of that the journalist get himself spyed) is pretty big and above all: Ukraine will not send them 15 years in jail for fake news (Yep, Russians do this: 15 years).
Very Strange.

In Ukraine you only face 12 years in prison. Much betta ^_^

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has signed a law restricting the dissemination of military information during the current state of emergency, with violators facing up to 12 years in prison.

According to the document, filming the movements of Ukrainian military personnel, sites of shelling, street names, transport stops, shops, factories, and other civilian and military facilities is now prohibited.

Relax, I didn't claim that Putin is about to be ousted, or that Russia is losing the war on the battlefield anytime soon.
I just pointed out that even the limited info we have is sufficient to conclude why Shoigu was able to retain his position and why Surovikin had to go.

If you publish fake news in the West you might potentially be jailed for life like Julian Assage.

Just a joke . :P

Drones explosions in Moscow...

At 00:25 as example: I guess this is the kind of effect Ukrainians want, air alert every single day would be well deserved or a bad idea ?
Honestly there's pro & cons, even if it does not kill anyone. Like false flag killing people, and then accusing Ukraine. I think they possibly did that in the past ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_Russian_apartment_bombings )

Technically it could be interesting [for ukrainians] to make drones dedicated to generate loudest explosion possible, but they can't say it because it would ruin the suspense.

Must be in a serious distress when mixing up:
- Blatant military spying/secret violation which can lead to soldiers deaths.
with
- "fake news" sentence from a totalitarian governement.

You were talking about journalists and the frontline.

I pointed out several times before that they aren't allowed to go anywhere without being escorted.

Ukraine civilians can face 12 years in prison for filming basically anything. You conveniently forgot to read the quote from the article I included? ^_^

All countries in the world are pushing people who are informing the enemy in times of war.
NOT all the countries in the world are putting people 15 years in jail for "fake news".

Now I wish you good luck finding people who "filming basically anything" innocently in Ukraine and got 12 years prison, on the other hand;

Russia's fake news law was also signed in a time of war and meant to stop attempts to undermine Putin.

But of course you know that --> double standards ^^
