Interesting take. You can see conspiracy theorists from all across the spectrum attempt to shoot down verifiable facts of conspiracies they don't like by pointing out one "wrong" thing from a source that's totally unrelated to the topic at hand, and then claiming it must all be false.

Does that make 100% of all of Cuomo's reporting false and unreliable now? No. On the flipside, a fact checker might come along and say that what I just said is wrong, therefore everything I say is bullshit, because Chris Cuomo did not actually claim it doesn't say protests need to be peaceful, he asked where it says that, therefore it was simply an acknowledgement of ignorance. That would be technically true, if the surrounding context is ignored.

I think part of the problem we have right now is that much of the material that is used is not actually source material. If a study is performed on 10,000 people, it's very easy to make a conclusion-based statistical model to support whatever narrative you want regarding that study. What has been seen more and more is that only the results of the conclusion-based statistical models are being presented, not the source data underlying the study.

You can have reasonable people take issue with certain aspects of some issues without buying wholly into the underlying conspiracy. Example: It's not out of the realm of normalcy to believe that there were some discrepancies with how certain things occurred with the 2020 election without going full Lin Wood/Sidney Powell. Or, you can believe that G. W.
