This seems like a silly take. A few weeds or small shrubs will have a minimal impact. Western sources try so hard to basically misdirect or find some excuse because for almost a year they've sold that Russia's army is in complete disarray and once Ukraine gets the superior NATO training and weapons they will steam roll the shovel wielding coward Russians. Instead of being truthful and just saying Russians defense lines are well built and formidable they pen this type of nonsense. It's frankly embarrassing, I said ISW & UK's briefings are kind of a joke like 8 months ago. It's propaganda and wishful thinking masquerading as 'intelligence'

Russia is indeed trying to weaponize food and winter though. The attacks on Ukrainian energy and heating infrastructure back in December were clearly an attempt to break the resolve of the Ukrainian people. For weeks on end, Goom was raving about all the "corpsicles" that would be found on the streets of Kyiv at the end of winter...

They already weaponized Dolphins, next escalation could be sperm whales or Budha forbid they weaponize their wunderwaffe, the orcas

I just listened to a killer podcast about Spermaceti Trust by HC Insider. Strongly recommend it - tells the story of the first energy transition away from whale oil to crude and coal.

Thanks for heads up, I listen to podcasts regularly and this seems like a really good one based on the energy/commodity themes they have, will for sure check it out

Why shouldn't they? NATO weaponized all kinds of shit against Russia from trade to money to insurance to agriculture and much more. Russia is weaponizing what it can in response, tit for tat. Only hypocrites complain when the person they're bullying returns the favour.
