There are gays , Lesbians , Transgenders in my part of the world. We have been living with them for as long as we know and we do not have a problem with them.
Dude, it literally is entirely Republicans needing a new boogeyman after gay marriage became acceptable to the mainstream. That's what changed. We literally have memos of them discussing it as strategy after their 2012 loss.
