Lots of concern about children "being groomed" via drag performances, but is this born out in reality? So much of that rhetoric comes from the religious, so here's a thread where anyone and everyone can post information about suspected, alleged, and confirmed child abuse either at drag-related events or through religious institutions.

2. April 6th, 2023 ABC report: "More than 150 priests and others associated with the Archdiocese of Baltimore are accused of sexually abusing more than 600 children in a newly released report from Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown. The report, which examined thousands of documents dating back to the 1940s, states that the number of abused children is “likely far higher” than 600."

3. May 20th, 2023 Hawaii News Now: "A former church volunteer been charged with alleged child sex crimes could now face a lawsuit. Four victims have already come forward, and attorneys believe there may be more. Casey T. Nishimura was indicted by a grand jury in December 2017 for third-degree sexual assault involving two minor children. His case has still not going to trial. Meanwhile, attorneys for a pair of sisters claim they were sexually abused by Nishimura when he was a summer fun volunteer at Manoa Valley Church in 2001 and again in 2007. The church said in a statement that the girls were between 5 and 7 years old at the time".

4. ABC7 News Report from 2022: "Sixty-six Catholic clergy members accused of child sexual assault have been identified in 116 lawsuits filed in Alameda County under the California Child Victims Act, the law firm of Jeff Anderson & Associates revealed Tuesday. The public data collected is believed to be a small percentage of what attorneys and advocates anticipate the final number of lawsuits filed to be."

5. April 18th, 2023 WSMV4 report: " A Williamson County pastor was indicted after investigators found he used his church’s internet connection to upload images of child sex abuse online, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. Daryl Hayes, 50, was charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began investigating Hayes after receiving a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a media release said. The tip led to the search of the Berry’s Chapel Church of Christ, where Hayes was lead pastor, and his residence. While details of the search were not immediately made available, Hayes was immediately fired from the church, according to the release. Detectives do not believe there were any local child victims or any additional concerns for the public, the release said."

Just because you can find some bad eggs among the clergy, it doesn't mean trannies and drag-queens aren't corrupting kids.

I would ask a few questions -

1) Is drag inherently a sexual performance? Why or why not?

2) Why should kids be exposed to drag?

3) If kids should be exposed to drag, should they also be exposed to other age restricted performances and events, such as strip clubs and R-rated film?

And now, to be fair, here's a list of what I can find for drag-related concerns:

1. Focus on the Family takes issue with "Drag Queen Story Hour" where drag queens read children books to children, often at local libraries. In particular, they name a queen "with a provocative name" such as "Ms Lil Hot mess" and her 2020 book The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish and express concern because it " encourages kids to move their hips in ways often coded as effeminate." 2. April 25th, 2023 NYPost Report: "A former Oregon elementary school teacher and mentor of an 11-year-old drag queen was sentenced to 11 months in jail after being convicted of nearly a dozen felony child abuse crimes. Kelsey Meta Boren, 31, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree last month after she was busted for uploading child porn online, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said".

3. June 22nd, 2022 PennLive article: "Brice Williams, a local drag queen who counseled LGBT youth in Harrisburg, has been charged with downloading photos and videos of child pornography two years ago, court documents said. Williams, 26, of Chambersburg, is charged with 25 counts of child pornography for at least 49 photos and 25 videos of naked, prepubescent boys that the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office said he downloaded between May and December 2020".

4. March 15th, 2019 ABC12 News report: "Houston Public Library is apologizing after a man charged for sexually assaulting a child was allowed to entertain children at Drag Queen storytime. The library said Friday that a review revealed the volunteer never completed a background check before he was allowed to participate in the program. Albert Alfonso Garza, 32, was last seen reading to children at the Montrose Library in September 2018."

1. No, it's not inherently sexual. It's performance art and one would need to justify their own argument that it is inherently sexual rather than expecting people to disprove your own assertion.

2. I don't personally believe that kids "should" or "should not" be exposed to drag. I think that it's okay that kids are witness to, and involved in, drag because it is not inherently anything other than gender-based performance art. There are adult versions of drag, and versions that are appropriate for children--as is the case with most entertainment.

3. See above. It's like saying that because there are some movies that are Rated-R that kids should not be exposed to movies at all.

You are normalizing drag shows and putting a positive spin on them by calling them "gender-based performance art". They are still attempts to corrupt innocent young minds, but of course, people like you see nothing wrong with it.
