He's making a joke.

He does have a peculiar manner of speaking, but a lot of his comments are almost willfully misunderstood.

Yeah, clear communication is not something a president needs.

We don't have the audio or video available to determine that. With Trump, that's certainly possible, or even likely. But he talks about jailing his political opponents too much for my liking.

Tongue in cheek.

He's not bright, but he's not stupid either. He understands how "jail my opponents" sounds, he doesn't mean it literally, and his literature of tweets backs that up. He says things and drops them instantaneously. Taking him literally is a mistake.

Not saying that's ideal out of our political leader, but we're doing ourselves a disservice if we refuse to understand how he communicates.

I think our institutions and checks and balances protect ourselves from Trump. Given the opportunity, I think he would punish or even jail his political opponents. I do agree that people often don't understand how he communicates, don't understand he is joking, take his quotes out of context, etc, but his rhetoric is very authoritarian.

By the time all of this is over, Trump's name will be worse than Nixon's.

Interesting read. It looks like Mueller has given up on collusion charges, and is pursuing something else entirely.

Mueller laying out the potential financial relationship between Trump and Russia during the campaign fits neatly into the conspiracy we've all been discussing for two years... but okay.
