The way I see it Putin/Erdogan needed a preface to break the wheat deal. Now, they have it. Those Azov people were safer in Turkey than in Ukraine now :lol:

Does Turkey have some benefit to sabotaging the grain deal? I don't follow their geopolitics close enough to know, but its pretty egregious and a textbook example of perfidy to agree to a prisoner swap on conditions and then turn around and violate those conditions.
But then again, Nazi war criminals gonna do Nazi war crimes

83% of the wheat from the wheat deal went to 1st world nations :lol: Russia wanted easing on sanctions towards its agriculture but Europe wanted the wheat without any changes to sanctions. Russia was going to stop the deal one way or another regardless of Turkey.

More than 100 ships have sailed from Ukraine, with 47 percent of the grain cargoes going to Turkey and Asian countries, 36 percent going to the EU, and 17 percent to Africa.

I mean I could get it if its pressure from domestic Turkish wheat farmers, which was also the issue with Poland. I didn't look into it but that's what I'd assume the logic is, protecting their farmers from the flood of cheap Ukrainian exports while trying to keep Erdogan's hands off it so the citizenry can't accuse him of increasing food prices. That's the kind of complicated geopolitical maneuvers I don't follow closely. Just googling it I get stuff like;
https://www.world-grain.com/articles/16796-turkey-expected-to-produce-more-wheat-in-2022-23
https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/international/2023/07/07/729058.htm
and the 130% tariff on wheat

all it matters to us burgerstanis is whether Turkey has a reason to want to sabotage the grain deal right on its critical date. Its not like Erdogan cares about the fate of 5 nazi war criminals, he's clearly got a plan in mind if he's agreeing to violate a deal he himself secured in the first place, right in Russia's face.

Five actual Nazi war criminals are being returned to Ukraine in violation of the prisoner exchange deal that released them to Turkey, and the NATOsphere is taking a victory lap
Not just some random Ukrainian POWs, but the most diehard Nazi Azov Battalion commanders, who were only in Turkey because Russia honored its side of a prisoner swap while Ukraine decided upon perfidy.

Doesn't take a chess grandmaster to look ahead a few moves and anticipate that Russia will cite this as reason to break the wheat deal. That is, if Russia actually wants to break the wheat deal

The wheat deal was brokered on the understanding that the West would make concessions. As no concessions have been made, the wheat deal will not be renewed. As I understand it.

This guy is posting cringe videos like this every day while the reality is that Ukraine still hasn't breached the first defensive line and more minefields and trenches and defense lines await.

(Let's be generous and say they're close to the first defense line near Robotyne and that's it)
