Fertilizers are salt.
Nutrients either bottled or salt nutrients are indeed salts.
You have two options, either go hydro (Bottled nutes) or organic (Salts)
Then you play with your macro/micro to get the correct NPK while having all your plant need. (Depend on which plant we're talking).
Always a good idea to get a soil test done if inexperienced .
If you want a starter soil without going balistic with all the micros
1/3 Soil
1/3 Aeration (Perlite or pumice)
1/3 good compost (Leaf compost + worm casting mix)
Add 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 at 2 spoon per gallon (50% of each)
Let it cook for a month in tubs while making sure it's singly moist and not dry and move the soil every 7 days.
Once you see web all over, rejoice yourself you have a good active soil.
From there, learn what your plant need and when to add more nutrients. (Usually a month IN veg and 1month in Bloom). That's good for whatever you grow.
