It doesn't matter how many times people repeat this when it's evident Ukraine joining was only a matter of time. If what you say is true, we could have literally created some sort of treatise with them saying Ukraine won't join, instead this is what Stoltenberg was saying a half a year ago.

Maybe it would have happened in a decade or two but it certainly wasn't imminent. In addition, admission requires UNANIMOUS consent by current members and there are several countries that made statements that effectively put cold water on Ukraine's admission. When do you think Ukraine was going to join NATO?

Think about it for a moment. What happens if a country that's engaged in conflict joins NATO? Are we obligated to fight on behalf of Ukraine then? If not, do we just ignore them all together and we only protect them if another country attacks them? It simply doesn't make sense. Putin knows that though and he's just blowing smoke up our collective asses.

In the North, Russian withdrawals and Ukrainian counterattacks have significantly increased the amount of Ukrainian-held territory, likely faster than Russia expected. Encirclements of Kharkiv and Sumy have been fully broken

However, in the South, Russia took full control on Izyum on April 1st: https://twitter.com/leonidragozin/status/1509957057029586947

This is significant because the road through Izyum is the main highway to the Donbas, the Russians can progress South East and attack Slovyansk. The eventual encirclement of the JFO looks likely if Russians take one of Slovyansk or Severeodonetsk

What will be interesting to watch now is how many Ukrainian troops from the North will now be freed up to go South and defend the Donbas, and how many supplies they can successfully take with them

this is an old debate we honestly dont mind if YOU want to stick to YOUR view (whatever it is) of the reasons for this war, accepting that there is a MAINSTREAM view. it is normal that each block will have its own stated view, Russia is after all the enemy. I really struggle with the mainstream view however reading the history, which is only further supported by this video ( i think this video is 6-10 years old btw and we already posted this video 3 times yet not one is refutting what is being said in th video ).

This debate clearly shows that the very eastern par of Ukraine has a majority of "Russian origins" people and this is the issue.
This does not justify an invasion, civilians massacres, and war crimes, on whole Ukraine. Even mercenaries etc. Sad and dirty.

/e Russians are destroying cities to the ground, nothing is left, it's a complete destruction because they have absolutely no ethics.

I've made this point about 30 times in this thread, but they just keep ignoring it.

Actually, the point that Ukraine wasn't on the cusp of joining NATO has been addressed many times. Official membership isn't required for Ukraine to serve NATO interests... some called this "sphere of influence".
Russia seeks Ukraine's neutrality in spirit, not just in words and technicality. This includes, for example, Ukraine not hosting paramilitary forces who report to the Ukrainian army officers who in turn report to Pentagon.

Aren't you agree Putin should be ousted and that a regular democracy should be created instead ?

It doesn't matter whether Russia have or doesn't have democracy , their Economy will not fly.
There is just too much corruption and monopoly by Oligarchs and current government officials you know who.
The Western style democracy, I will be a bit more specific may not work in Russia or the East.

If you allow Russia to have liberal democracy, you might create another Putin down the road.

Ukraine was doing it, i don't see why russia could not, a second fall, weakened oligarches, would seriouly help it.
Don't surrender to the easy "but they will stay corrupt" narative IMO

Russia have a very very unique Culture.
I think everyone will agree Ukraine is not an Angel when it comes to corruption.
That being said it was absolutely wrong for Russia to invade a sovereign nation not matter what reason they give.
You cannot just march in and take over lands which doesn't belong to you " anymore" .
