I was needlessly combative in my initial response so it isn't really your fault, I started it lol, I just took it personally when I should have addressed what you said in good faith since I generally agree with your views on these things. So I apologize for the rudeness.

I consider you much more educated on politics and international affairs than I am, you are one of the posters who keep me interested in this thread actually. That said I think we are living in strange times and that unconventional perspectives can have some value.

I think Prigozhin is basically a disinformation agent for Russia and I think Wagner is just an arm of the Russian military which has the freedom to act with some plausible deniability. So that is the lens I view their actions through, the only way this being an actual coup attempt makes sense to me is if Prigozhin lost his mind, which may be possible but more likely that I either have a flawed view of Wagner/Prigozhin or it was some sort of information warfare.

That was sort of my view in the beginning, but after everything settled the reality is that the negatives far outweigh the positives, and when things don´t add up then it is either big miscalculation or that view is wrong. This is all exacerbated by the fact that Prigoznin is a known theater enjoy-er which makes it even more messy to interpret.

My personal view is that it would have been preferable if Wagner continued as it has been, without being integrated into MoD. Why should you ever do anything to the goose that lays golden eggs? People underestimate how valuable Wagner has been to Russia in africa and to an extent in middle east. I have always viewed Wagner as Putin´s private army and a way to circumvent Russian constitutions &l laws similarly to other PMCs (with prizboi as just CEO), but turns out there is a big problem with this view. If we take a second and ignore the conflict that happened yesterday.. why did Putin decide to absorb Wagner into MoD a few weeks ago??? -- This is probably the most important question, that a lot of people skip and that should be deeply considered.
