This still is failing to make sense. Wagner is made up of contractors…paid mercenaries, with no real ideological proclivity. Like they didn’t join because prighozin is some great guru. So for 25k people to blindly follow him into in an obvious suicide mission doesn’t make sense.

Is the Wagner command structure really that close and loyal?

In dictatorships, there're always suppressed groups seeking power waiting for an opportunity like in a shark frenzy. Prigoshin alone isn't as problematic but if other groups could rally up their support quick enough to attack Kremlin then you'll have a civil war in no time. So yeah, the danger of a civil war in Russia is real.

a video from rostov showed civilians supporting wagner mercenaries with food and water, so maybe they have some public support?

a few weeks back they grinded through bachmut despite the conflict with the russian army only to fully turn on them while ukraine is counterattacking

aside from hardcore conspiracies like the multi billion accounting "error" in washington being payment for the mercenaries, this is definitely the weirdest rebellion

We don't know the real background info. Maybe, them turning on Putin is the logical outcome.

I think most people that are not bootlickers would realize Putin is bad for RU. I could see public support for this.

So, in a nutshell:

Rostov on Don (logistical center and headquarters of the Ukraine operation) taken by Wagner (no shots fired), military top brass fled together with the president while Progozhin (Putin's friend) is marching on Moscow with his Kremlin equipped and supplied mercenary army.

Makes me scratch my head...
