None of that shit matters, fact is the cops held him down for 3 more minutes AFTER HE STOPPED BREATHING while literal DOCTORS wanted to save him.
They were LITERALLY TOLD HE WOULD DIE.
This is not some "Oh no we held him down too long and he died, our bad but we had no idea this could happen" this was "What the fuck do these trained medical professionals know? I had 6 weeks of training in standing on peoples necks!"
Who are these doctors you're speaking of?
Police do not allow off-duty maybe EMTs to randomly intervene in an arrest. They call the paramedics like they're instructed to. That is the right thing to do in their situation, they are not qualified to make procedural changes up on the fly, or allow random bystanders to give medical help. Can you imagine if a bystander intervened and inadvertently killed someone? The city would be buried beneath an avalanche of lawsuits.
If Chauvin is determined to have acted improperly, he will get convicted of manslaughter. If they can demonstrate malice and a "depraved mind", they might get him for 3rd degree murder. Unintentional 2nd degree seems like a huge stretch.
