Some states have trigger laws, others legalized abortion by state law. What's going to be a real battleground in the next few months is states with ambiguous laws and enforcement.
Wisconsin is a good example. There's a law on the books from 1849 that outlaws abortion and makes it a felony. It was never repealed, it was invalidated by Roe v Wade. The Democratic governor demanded a special session yesterday to overturn that law, the Republican congress gaveled in the session and gaveled it back out seconds later. Its still law of the land. The democratic attorney general, however, has vowed not to enforce the law. So we're going to have this scenario where abortion is illegal by law, but the state refuses to prosecute it. Much like how all crime works in Minnesota right now lmao
