My favorite part of Germany's success story is how only 13.1% of their energy usage comes from renewables, yet they've foolishly shut down their nuclear power plants and are drying up their domestic lignite production, with the result that 80.5% of their total energy still comes from oil/gas/coal yet 50% of their imported gas, 40% of their oil and 30% of their hard coal comes from Russia. And they've still got no LNG terminals.
so the german people get to put their plastic bottles into bins so they can rub around some euro-coins and feel good about themselves, while suckling at the mammon's teat out of a straw laid across the baltic to Vyborg
its absolutely ridiculous how crazy ideologists are dismantling our energy supply and want it to depend on things you cant control
in the rather cold and dark january of 2017 the output of renewable energy was close to zero for a whole month in the middle of winter
the constant heat this summer and a stable high pressure area produced barely any wind at all and the best degree of capacity utilisation for wind energy in the last 2 months was around 10%

good times for solar power at least, but actually their efficiency goes down a lot with their lifespan and increasing heat
absolutely laughable
with the remaining nuclear power plants and others having to reduce output for lack of cooling water, our supply relies big time on the brown coal plants, that our politicians and renewable energy lobby hate so much, right now
basic load and basic physics are a bitch, arent they
not that these people even know what an electric current is, but whatever....
meanwhile in the state of hesse the self-proclaimed saviors of nature want to clear a centuries old forest for more windmills
its madness
