And it's actually also not just France, it's the whole western world. Ppl have traveled to Syria for multiple reasons. Between the ones that have returned until now, many of them, considered a warzone not being their cup of tea, and wanted to return to a more peaceful life, like regretting a bad life choice. The chances for them to commit a terrorist attack in their home country is far lower than the wave that is coming right now. The wave of disappointed fighters that have lost a war.
We're all half bracing and mitigating the impact. And should be thinking about what kind of institutions can support more stability in the middle east. How can we support a more stable life for ppl wanting to go back to Syria after the country has been destroyed?
