oh really? what made a MILITARY INVASION of ukraine "inevitable"? which terrible thing would have happened to russia had they not attacked? what exactly justifies their killing of tens of thousands of innocent people and the destruction of a whole country?
also, pretty rich to clutch your pearls about alleged bad faith arguments in a post where you call me a corporate shill - replying to a post in which i repeatedly condemn war profiteering.
lastly, why is it so difficult for you to see how there is no hypocrisy in criticising corruption and neo-nazis in ukraine, while also acknowledging that both are NOT a justification to invade a country - ESPECIALLY if you're a country with even more corruption and neo-nazis, lol? even though it might not exist in YOUR world, nuance is a thing.
All of the reasons that this war happened stem from Russia and its own mismanagement of itself.
A cartel of former KGB operatives running a country of 130 million.
Horrible demographics following either wars or economic collapse.
Undiversified economy.
Most importantly the threat of democracy thriving in a country so close in distance and culture to Russians.
The caveats are the West's non-reaction to 2014 annexation of Crimea and Merkels blocking of Ukraine entering NATO.
This was never about protecting Russians. This was about preserving the Russian regime.
The shills that post here can never answer this question:
What literal threat did NATO pose to Russians by Ukraine moving to join NATO?
Remind them that Finland has joined. And Finlands border is a 2 hour drive from St Petersburg.
Remind them that Russia already has Iskander nuclear capable missiles stationed in Kaliningrad.
And they really have no idea what the direct threat was. Other than it sounds like a great justification for the most obvious war of choice and attempted genocide in living memory.
