Because crime is skyrocketing and criminals are taking over the streets, terrorizing citizens and instituting their own gang run neighborhoods untouched by the rule of law.
Power abhors a vacuum and when these areas became no-go zones for police, the gangs took over.
This isn't some gradual uptick or slight increase in rates, its the collapse of law and order in large swathes of the country. You can literally go out in the street and shoot someone in broad daylight and face zero consequences. Police didn't even take an incident report for this mass shooting.
But of course, the
real existential threat to our way of life is a few right wing chuds trampling each other to death in an unarmed riot a year ago. We have to repeal fundamental rights guaranteed to us in the constitution and sacrifice concepts like 'freedom of assembly' and 'freedom of expression' over the fears of another January 6th, its why we need to ban Trump from running from office again and lock up anyone who organized a political rally. That will keep us safe and secure.
