Trump was incensed when Bolton gave the order to capture the Huawei Princess and she was detained in Canada if you remembered.

Maybe but Bolton was still able to do that, Canada still complied, so at the end of the day whether Trump is anti establishment or not, the results are kind of the same.

I had pretty high hopes for what he might do once in office but I wasn't very impressed overall, to be honest I dont know if anyone could institute the type of reforms the US/West needs now.

I don't think anyone can institute those kind of reforms. I was hoping Trump can.

Neither do I at this point, I think the problems in western society are too long ignored to be dealt with by any single leader, it isn't just bad government it is every aspect of western society IMO

I think it is natural though, what goes up must come down, no civilization exists forever and I'm optimistic that whatever comes next will be better.

Few fairly big development in last few days

Ukraine launched offensives in Zap direction with some limited success but there’s videos of several destroyed Ukrainian hardware, tanks, APCs etc. Russian sources are saying the Ukrainian losses were heavy both men and equipment wise. No real way to know one way or the other.

Last few hours, which is a bigger deal imo:

Other big thing is the dam in Nova Kakhovka seems to have been blown up in the Kherson region. This could cause heavy flooding for dozens of towns including parts of Kherson city. From some of the maps I’ve seen from pro Russians the bulk of the potential impact would be more on the Russian southern positions. It also could have an impact on Crimeas water supply and potentially on the nuclear power plant. Idk too early to truly know all the ramifications or if it’s 100% confirmed. It could ‘wash’ out several Russian defensive positions but honestly would be a real shitty way of fighting a war especially if you truly hope to reconquer southern Kherson and Crimea as you’re basically fucking the civilians in those towns. Maybe false flag but logic is about as strong as Russians blowing up their own pipeline.

My limited understanding is that the powerplant is cooled by its own distilled water reserves, and not from the river water.

I don't know anything about reactors but Ukraine was worried about the water supply for it so I assume it needs it

Oh and also, this probably isn't good either.

Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the general director of nuclear energy firm Rosenergoatom, said if the Nova Kakhovka dam did rupture, the power cable line for the Zaporizhzhia plant's pumping stations would be flooded.

Outside of Twitter this is the first article i'v seen talking about Zaluzhny
Still too early to tell if true or not but IMO it's a very easily disprovable lie if it is, which hasn't been disproven.

Finally... It was bullshit all along.

Most, if not all, of of this is russian propaganda... Russian terrorist state destroyed this dam; Ukraine and Zelenskyy warned about it along with staging a nuclear incident at the ZNPP with the intention of blaming Ukraine:

The significance attached to these Belgorod raids is pretty hilarious tbh. It's basically cross border raids with small amount of units, on small towns, with no real impact. Hit and runs, and then going back across the border. Maybe it forces Russia to bog down a few thousand units in that region to patrol the border to prevent them but other than optics and just pestering, they aren't really changing the trajectory of this conflict in any way.

If you say so... ^_^

Lol well if Zelensky said it, it must be true.
