I was convinced he was going to win by a landslide before this fiasco.

Too bad dems couldn’t come up with a good candidate. 3 years of no vision or plan

That's a solid point.

if all he did was what he knew he could succeed with he'd hold a rally every day and do nothing. sadly.

A little unfair. He's probably qualified to pick the new FBI headquarters design and which border wall materials we use.

I'm curious if Trump supporters dispute this. Do you accept that he's not able to deal with the intricacies of a bill like this? It seems obvious to me, but maybe you guys disagree.

Tbh, Trump was never the type of President to play an active role in legislating, in drafting bills and stuff.
He's more of an agenda-setter type than someone for the details. Detractors could call him "cheerleader-in-chief". ;)

Honestly, I'm happy if he stays out of this. He wouldnt be able to provide substantial input for specific provisions of such a bill, and his mere presence would only increase partisanship and toxicity.

He's too uninformed about everything to have a positive influence on things. He's also terrible at empathy so he can't do press conference very well and reassure the public.

Basically Trump would be close to my last choice ever on my list of "People to have as a leader during a crisis". Especially one where you can't just say "We'll go to war against our enemies".

it’s funny a former “conservative” and actual pale pasty privileged lefty wants the executive branch writing bills, but hey that’s what happens when one has been in denial of reality for over a decade
