It is entirely an attempted genocide as evidenced by Putin's own rhetoric that claims Ukraine is not a real country. As evidenced by mass missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in an attempt to kill civilians directly and by causing indirect suffering during the winter. As evidenced by Russia's forcibly removing Ukrainian children from their families and sending them to Russia. This is a direct attempt to remove a key part of Ukraines demographic, namely its future generations.
