Yeah seen it just now, pretty fucked up doesn't seem fake. These soldiers are pretty dumb.

This whole Ukraine above all Azov bullshit got them into this trouble in the first place. I mean what the hell guys, Ukranian are so awesome people but how on gods green earth can one be so stupid to think as a sort of russian root to paint nazi tatoos over their bodies and scream nazi songs. Honestly I do not think this mentality can be removed just by Russia with destructive force but rather with talking to those poor kids and teaching them how bad being a Nazi actually is. These lost Ukranians are different Nazis than in Nazi germany. These guys are just misguided while Nazi germany was completely hopeless.

Every country has a small proportion of Neo-Nazis. Azov is roughly 900 people. Far right parties in Ukraine garner 2-3% of the popular vote in total, which is very low for the 2nd poorest country in Europe that has been at war for 8 years

Video was confirmed to be real by both sides and soldiers will be taken to court. Case closed.

would be really interesting to hear later what really happens to them

for some reason i have a hard time believing that they will receive an actual punishment

ukraine needs every man, their punishment will be to be sent to the front again

Not every country arms and trains their nazis as part of their formal armed forces, then sends them out to commit war crimes.
How many countries have an active nazi military? How many elect nazi politicians?

It's a lot more complicated then what's understood in the west and it's actually not the same levels as every other country like dro mentioned, its much higher. I'm pretty sure most Ukrainians dont subscribe to fascism but there are large swaths that identify with the ideology of Stepan Bandera which actually overlaps with Nazi/extremist far right ideology. The fact that he was decreed a Ukrainian national hero in 2010 by an outgoing president is pretty crazy and says a lot of the type of support there is for that type of ideology.

Quote
...Bandera cultivated German military circles favorable to Ukrainian independence, and organized OUN expeditionary groups. When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, he prepared the 30 June 1941 Proclamation of Ukrainian statehood in Lviv, pledging to work with Nazi Germany.[4][5] For his refusal to rescind the decree, Bandera was arrested by the Gestapo, which put him under house arrest on 5 July 1941,[6] and later between 1942 and 1943[7] sent him to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.[8] In 1944, with Germany rapidly losing ground in the war in the face of the advancing Allied armies, Bandera was released in the hope that he would be instrumental in deterring the advancing Soviet forces. He set up the headquarters of the re-established Ukrainian Supreme Liberation Council, which worked underground. He settled with his family in West Germany where he remained the leader of the OUN-B and worked with several anti-communist organizations such as the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations[9][10] as well as with the British intelligence agencies.[9] Fourteen years after the end of the war, Bandera was assassinated in 1959 by KGB agents in Munich.[11][12]

On 22 January 2010, the outgoing President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko awarded Bandera the posthumous title of Hero of Ukraine.[13] The European Parliament condemned the award,[14] as did Russia,[15] Polish, and Jewish politicians and organizations.[16][17][18] The incoming president Viktor Yanukovych declared the award illegal, since Bandera was never a citizen of Ukraine, a stipulation necessary for getting the award. This announcement was confirmed by a court decision in April 2010.[19] In January 2011, the award was officially annulled.[20] A proposal to confer the award on Bandera was rejected by the Ukrainian parliament in August 2019.[21]

Some of his views on the jews:

Quote
Bandera was an antisemite and Nazi collaborator.[70] Ukrainian nationalism did not historically include antisemitism as a core aspect of its program and saw Russians as well as Poles as the chief enemy with Jews playing a secondary role.[71] Nevertheless, Ukrainian nationalism was not immune to the influence of the antisemitic climate in Eastern and Central Europe,[71] that had already become highly racialized in the late 19th century (indeed Bandera and his followers, similarly to the Nazis, advocated the selective breeding to create a "pure" Ukrainian race)[72] and had developed an elaborate anti-Jewish discourse.[73]

Hostility to both the Soviet central government and the Jewish minority was highlighted at the OUN-B's Conference in Kraków in May 1941, at which the leadership of Bandera's OUN faction adopted the program "Struggle and action of OUN during the war" (Ukrainian: "Боротьба й діяльність ОУН під час війни") which outlined the plans for activities at the onset of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union and the western territories of the Ukrainian SSR.[63] The program declared:

The Jews in the USSR constitute the most faithful support of the ruling Bolshevik regime, and the vanguard of Muscovite imperialism in Ukraine. The Muscovite-Bolshevik government exploits the anti-Jewish sentiments of the Ukrainian masses to divert their attention from the true cause of their misfortune and to channel them in a time of frustration into pogroms on Jews. The OUN combats the Jews as the prop of the Muscovite-Bolshevik regime and simultaneously it renders the masses conscious of the fact that the principal foe is Moscow.[74]

So any word on if the kneecap shooting video is authentic or not? People here seemed really concerned about it but I haven't heard anything in a while.

Probably is. Ukrainian army also bombed civilians in separatist cities. This kinda stuff kinda comes with the territory of war, none of it is surprising or particularly shocking.

True. Using civilians as a shield is a good tactic in war its like keeping hostages. Also the Z symbol of the Russians will be punishable in the World which is hilarious because what comes next? Punishing the entire alphabet? 🤣
